"I am so appreciative, as the District 202 Foundation for Excellence’s generous contribution made it possible for me to attend the Science on the Grand STEAM Conference in Grand Rapids, Michigan,” Thomas Jefferson Elementary school media specialist, Kris Bruno said.
Bruno was one of eleven District 202 teachers awarded the 2024 Professional Development Grant from the Foundation.
“I was able to learn some amazing new strategies and left with great resources and connections,” Bruno added.
The award was created to help pay for special summer professional growth programs designed to support innovative teaching.
“I'm excited to share everything with my peers as we begin the new year,” Bruno said.
“The Foundation understands that money for continuing professional study and growth can be hard to find,” said Foundation for Excellence Vice Chairman Matthew Starr. “We are proud to help our teachers continue to be lifelong learners.”
