Third Grade Historical Field Trip
Overview
The Foundation for Excellence provides funds to cover the cost for each third grade student in District 202 to attend a local history field trip at the Joliet Area Historical Museum. By providing the total cost for student transportation and for entrance fees to the Joliet Area Historical Museum, the Foundation makes this field trip available to all third graders at no cost to the student.
Each spring, third grade students study what the region was like when settlers first came here in the early 1800’s. At the end of the unit of study, students go on a field trip to the Joliet Area Historical Museum. Students who tour the museum in Joliet learn about the area’s founding families and historical events.
The Foundation for Excellence is honored to partner with District 202 and the Plainfield Historical Society to make this memorable and enriching field trip possible.
