Coolidge Scholarship Program

This full ride scholarship is only available to high school juniors!  Students who can demonstrate academic excellence and rigor in coursework, have an interest in public policy, and community service should apply.  This scholarship covers four years of undergraduate tuition, room & board, and expenses at any accredited college or university in the United States.  There is also a summer program - all expenses paid.

Students who are between the ages of 18-24, can demonstrate financial need per program requirements or meet other grant eligibility requirements, and are interested in the program's provided list of high growth/high demand occupations in Will County may wish to apply. Programs may provide tuition, fees, books, gas cards, paid internships, on-the-job training and employment assistance.  For more information visit

Give Something Back Foundation, Inc. (ATTENTION GRADE 9, FRESHMEN)
Give Something Back Foundation is a four year mentoring and scholarship program starting with high school freshmen students.  Students approved for the program must maintain a "B" average or higher while in high school.  Students must be eligible for the full Pell Grant, demonstrate high academic achievement, and be of good character.  The Foundation helps to cover the cost of education at a partner college.  Visit

Golden Apple Scholars of Illinois
Deadline: February
The Golden Apple Scholars is a program for students who wish to become teachers and are willing to work for 5 years upon graduating in a school of need.  Students must attend 4 summer institutes and attend one of the 53 participating universities or colleges.   Students will receive a summer stipend.  Students who fulfill  the agreement will also receive $2500 each year for their freshman and sophomore years and $5000 each year for their junior and senior years.  Students who are interested in this program may nominate themselves.  Please visit the website for more details.

Illinois and Federal Teacher Grant Funded Programs
Deadline: varies
The state and federal governments offer funding for various teaching programs.  The funding may help pay for tuition costs and may come with an obligation to teach in a designated area of need.  Students who do not complete their teaching obligation will have to pay back the scholarship money with interest.  Students may also need to attend a listed college/university.

Quest Bridge Scholarship Program - College Match
Deadline: September
This program covers full tuition for prestigious colleges and universities.  Student must be in the top 5% to 10% of their senior class. Students must demonstrate consistent academic rigor and score at least a 28 on the ACT or >1310 on the SAT. Household income less than $65,000 for a family of four.   FAFSA and tax information are required.  First to attend college preferred.  Visit the website for more details.

Students who wish to serve in the military and obtain a college degree, may wish to look into College ROTC programs.  Programs vary in criteria, time of service obligation, and scholarship dollars.

"The Army ROTC provides full tuition and fees (or $10K for room and board) scholarships to over 2000 high school students each year.  In addition to the tuition and fees, the scholarship pays $1200 annually for books and a stipend of $420 per months (for up to 10 months a year.)"

United States Military Academies
Competitive students who wish to serve their country and pursue a military career may wish to consider the military academies.  Most of the academies cover tuition, room, board, medical, dental, a monthly salary to cover uniforms and supplies.  Students in return will give back in service.  Service time varies per academy/military branch.
